While many are still learning the ropes (and some are on their first-ever voyage), we found the predominantly American crew aboard Pride of America to be friendly and hardworking. American crewmembers are supplemented by a smattering of international crew, who set the tone for professionalism and dedication to service. Service history
It is recommended that you request a split bed prior to sailing to allow housekeeping enough time to accommodate. If you are already onboard and want to split your bed, alert your cabin steward; it might take several hours to complete this request. It may be early days as far as the Hawaiian cruise restart goes, but Norwegian and the crew aboard Pride of America have turned the ship into a destination in its own right.

Pride of America has two Deluxe Family Penthouse suites, each measuring between 607 and 650 square feet. They have the same amenities as the Deluxe Penthouse Suites except instead of a separate shower and double vanity, they have a single vanity and a tub/shower combo. Each one has a walk-in closet and king-sized bed separated from the living room with a privacy curtain. All are grateful to be here, to have passengers onboard once again - and so are most passengers I spoke with onboard. Sure, some are miffed about shore excursions and specialty restaurants being booked up, and that, too, is understandable. But as good as it is, dinner at Le Bistro should not be your reason for booking a cruise to Hawaii; you can do that onboard Norwegian Sky on a cruise to the Bahamas for a fraction of the price.

But harkening back to my slightly higher pre-coronavirus standards with the hope that eventually I’ll return to them, I’d consider the entertainment on the Pride of America perfectly fine, but not great. I’m a huge fan of the full-length Broadway-style shows on the larger NCL ships, but those aren’t offered on smaller ships. Instead, the Pride of America main theater features loosely plotted singing and dancing shows (such as Lights, Camera, Music!) performed by the ship’s production cast, a magician, a comedian, and a special guest vocal group (on our sailing it was These Guys Worldwide).
